Compare Anti Aging Creams

How to Compare Anti Aging Wrinkle Cream and Products   by Yu Morita

When people compare anti aging wrinkle cream, one of the first things that they look at is the price tag. Many of us are willing to pay hundreds of dollars per ounce for something that is guaranteed to remove our wrinkles or restore that youthful glow we’ve been missing. What I’ve learned, over the years, is that the high priced products aren’t necessarily any better than the others.

The ingredients label tells us more about quality than anything else. The price tag often reflects the amount of money that the company spent on advertising or to license the use of a designer name. Some ingredients are more expensive than others, of course. But, some companies, particularly the big brand names, use only tiny amounts of the expensive ingredients. The rest of the product consists of cheap fillers.

Petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin wax, polyethylene glycol and artificial preservatives combined with a nice “fragrance” make up the majority of those products. Once you learn to read some labels and compare anti aging wrinkle cream, based on the ingredients, you’ll see what I mean. I could rant on for pages about the failings of the major cosmetic companies, but I’m sure that you are more interested in what’s new and effective. Let’s start with an ingredient called “Functional Keratin”.

Developed by a natural products manufacturer in New Zealand, Functional Keratin is a protein complex extracted from sheep’s wool. Using patented processed, the manufacturer was able to emulsify the protein, without rendering it inactive. Other forms of keratin have been broken down, molecularly, to a point where they are not beneficial to the skin’s health or appearance.

When volunteers compare anti aging wrinkle cream containing Functional Keratin to glycerin-based creams, the difference in softness and moisture content is noticeable. Researchers are able to actually measure the difference between the two creams. They have found that the ones containing Functional Keratin are four times more moisturizing than the glycerin-based creams.

Glycerin is one of the better moisturizers. It is commonly found in more expensive lotions and face creams. When compared to creams containing petrolatum or mineral oil, glycerin is at least five times more effective. Actually, petrolatum and mineral oil are not truly moisturizing, at all.

The ability to moisturizer is important when we compare anti aging wrinkle cream. Dry skin sags. It looks and feels rough. Plumping up the skin’s layers improves firmness and helps to stretch out wrinkles. Another natural compound has been shown to improve moisture and reduce wrinkles by as much as 30% after six weeks of use. It’s called coenzyme Q10 or ubiquinone.

Some of the better skincare products on the market contain both, Functional Keratin and Coenzyme Q10, as well as other nourishing ingredients that repair free radical damage, stimulate collagen production and correct imbalances that are present in aged skin. When you compare anti aging wrinkle cream, Functional Keratin and Coenzyme Q10 are the two most important ingredients to look for. There are others, but those are the subjects of other articles.
